"Beneath The Waves" - six paintings in the series inspired by swimming in the Ionian waters.
I'd been swimming in Greece for a week. A whole blue sky and turquoise sea week of long long swims around and between the Ionian islands. I spent some time photographing the adventure with a waterproof camera and I found I was most inspired by what I saw beneath the surface, beneath the waves. The shape of the boat, the rudder and the prop - the muted yet vibrant colour combinations - the contrast of soft human forms of my swimming buddies and the massive rigid form of our beautiful wooden boat Mowgli.
A peaceful collection of paintings capturing the stillness and I calm I felt under the water.
